Rules for the transport of animals, musical instruments or sports equipment

Sports equipment

The carriage of sports equipment weighing 23 kg or less is considered as common baggage and is included in the allowance. In the case of sports equipment weighing more than 23 kg, the normal excess baggage applies, with the following exceptions: golf kit / ski equipment (skis, poles and boots), the weight of which will therefore not be counted towards the baggage allowance.

Transport of animals

The transport of live animals (both in the hold and in the cabin) must be requested at least 3 days before the departure date and is subject to confirmation by the company.

Transport of animals in the hold

The transport of live animals in the hold is permitted, but is not included in the normal baggage allowance. The cost of this service depends on the weight and measurements of the animal and the cage that houses it, as follows:

• Total weight of animal and cage under 32 kg - 90 EUR
• Total weight of animal and cage between 32 kg and 75 kg - 170 EUR
• Oversized cage - over 203 cm in size (sum of three sizes) - 170 EUR

Transport of animals in the cabin

The transport of small animals in the cabin is permitted, but is not included in the normal baggage allowance. The cost of this service is as follows: 90 EUR

IMPORTANT! It is allowed to transport a maximum of two animals of the same type (cats, dogs, birds) in a single carrier, provided that the weight of the animals and the carrier does not exceed 8 kg. In case of heavier weight, the company reserves the right to ship the aninal in the hold or not to accept it on board. The sum of the three dimensions of the pet carrier must not exceed 115 cm (55x20x40).

Musical instruments

All musical instruments whose sum of dimensions (height, width, length) does not exceed 115 cm and in any case whose length does not exceed 115 cm, with a maximum weight of 8 kg, can be transported free of charge on board, in a special hard case. , in place of hand luggage. Instruments, such as the cello, which do not exceed the dimensions 52x40x135 cm (width, depth, height) and the weight of 55 kg, can be brought into the cabin for an additional fee. The reservation must be made at least 72 hours before the day of departure. Passengers wishing to carry their musical instruments on board AZAL flights are required to arrive at least 60 minutes before the scheduled check-in time.
